In the year 2000, while attending the Jewishgen international conference in NYC, I decided to check out their reference room. On the bulletin board was a note that a Tom Weiss had photgrapher the headstones from the Cemetery at Buchach. When I opened up his excel worksheet, to my amazement, there was a photo of my grandfather, Chaim Landes's headstone. Continents away and almost a hundred years later, we were finally connected.
In the All Galicia Database, there is a Chajem, no surname, son of Abraham Landes and Neche Kande born 1844, house number 443 3/l. The town of Record is Lvov, but Chaim is from Buchach. Possibly same person???
